Appointments in General

Most osteopaths are very busy and one shouldn't expect to be seen on the day of calling, especially if you are new to the practice or the osteopath in question. This is not necessarily a bad thing! Often it is better for things to settle a little over a few days, but do try to keep moving, as best you can. Please consider that if you are able to get on the treatment table in the first place, we are more likely to be able to help. That said, if you phone early enough, there may be a free or cancelled afternoon appointment available.

 One should allow 1 hr for Initial Consultations & 1/2 hr for follow-up treatments. The fee is for the consultation/treatment & not for a set time slot. Time is needed for writing notes.

Appointments cancelled or simply not attended, without 24 hrs notice are charged for. Someone else, that may be suffering, could have been seen in this time & one day that may be you!

On occasions I may run late, this may be for various reasons i.e. I have needed to write a note for someone to take to A & E, I have been treating someone who is elderly/infirm, etc., if this is the case - I apologise. Some cases are more complex than others & safety should not be compromised by rushing. Please, also understand we are unable to run late if you are late. You may be offered a short treatment or re-booking an appointment, depending on lateness.

Foot Note: Initial Consultation comprises of a:- full medical history, examination, tests etc., & usually includes treatment. On occasions we may need to refer you to your GP or elsewhere for further tests. This is for your safety & best care!
